Lee
Lee Roy Selmon has a background that is a combination of family scholarships football with community service. He was the youngest son of Lucious Selmon, and Jessie Selmon. They took care of him at the family farm near Eufala. In football, he played with his three brothers in Oklahoma. The three brothers were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's top lineman. The three years he was an offensive lineman, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 and also won two championships at the national level. In his role as a National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon was given an award for his third season in 1975. Selmon earned his diploma in education. Lee Roy's fourth volunteer service was ten-hours per week in volunteer work during the college. Following graduation Lee Roy moved to Tampa and spent the next nine years playing with Tampa's Buccaneers. There were three times, he was named an All-Pro. Then he began his business career. In 1988, he was an Account Representative for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also a part of the following groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. There was no doubt that, in 1982, The Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy one of ten outstanding young people across the nation. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in size and weighed in at 256 pounds as a college player he captained the 1975 team. In 1993, he became the as associate director at the University of South Florida. He was named associate director of athletics by the College Football Hall of Fame was named for the player in 1998. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. The Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 gave their Distinguished American Award to his parents Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. The presentation was made by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
